Revisiting My Goals
On January 27, 2009 I set up goals to help me create healthier living and lose weight. At that time, I said I would set up goals for March toward the end of February so here I am. Before I get into March, let me tell you, I met my February goals on average by 50%.
I planned to exercise a minimum of 12 hours during the month of February – 30 minutes 6 days a week. Thru noon today, I exercised 7.2 hours. I am actually very pleased with that number as I have never been one to exercise. This is a big step (for me) towards my success. And, added bonus – I am finding I enjoy the physical activity.
My goal was to drink water every day of the month, starting at 32 ounces a day and increasing thru the month to eventually 64 ounces a day. Drinking water is almost as appealing to me as exercise used to be. Including today, I have consumed my minimum water requirement 10 days this month – some days were actually higher than the minimum.
Food journal! This is a key element to success – how else do you know how much food you are consuming. My goal was to journal for 20 days – including today I have journaled 8 days.
How does this news make me feel? I am proud of myself. Although I did not achieve 100%, I know I achieved much more than I would have had I not set the goals. I was to reward myself on each goal: a spa pedicure for exercise, a manicure for water and a new book for keeping a food journal. Needless to say I don’t get that stuff now, however, I will treat myself to a new book for accomplishing what I did. The spa pedicure and manicure will have to wait – maybe in March. J
March Goals
Water – minimum of 48 ounces 5 days per week
Exercise – minimum of 30 minutes 5 days per week
Food Journal – minimum 5 days per week.
These goals are “gentler” than they were in February, but still something to strive for.
As always, I thank each and every one of you for your support through it all.
I can’t do this by myself.
Best Wishes to all of you.

You are doing a great job! Good luck to the new month!

You can do it Teresa, I know you can! Feel my pats on the back everytime you exercise, drink water and journal your food. And feel my kicks in the butt whenever you don’t feel like it! HA!
Thank you Nancy and Karin - it’s great to have you in my corner - pushing me out LOL
I need to work on my water, good luck in the upcoming months!
That is awesome! I think I’m going to set goals for myself for the month of Feb. Then I’m also going to write them down on a peice of paper at my house that I’ll see every day and then I’ll actually remember them! Good idea, and i hope you don’t mind me also using them for myself.
Good job!!!
Well done girl! I know you will do those next goals. Lets keep it going girl!

The food journal is a key piece I’ve been missing, and it shows on my weight tracker! I’m back to it today. I like the feeling of control in planning out my meals and sticking to it.
